Restaurants
Kingswood Village is surrounded by great places to eat. Steamer’s in Kings Beach has indoor and outdoor seating, it's located on Lake Tahoe and has the best pizza in Lake Tahoe. It's a 3-minute drive from Kingswood Village. The Char Pit is another great pick, offering mouthwatering burgers and locally renowned gyros. Also in the area is Hiro Sushi, a sushi joint that makes one heck of a spicy tuna long roll.
Boating
There are plenty of places in the Kings Beach area to rent boats, kayaks and jet skiis. The closest place to Kingswood Village is North Tahoe Watersports, located in the Kings Beach State Beach recreation area. For launching boats, the Coon Street Launching Area is located directly next to North Tahoe Watersports. Also, dogs are allowed on this section of the beach, so feel free to bring your four-legged children along for the fun!
Beaches
The most convenient beach to Kingswood Village is a short 3-minute drive south; Kings Beach State Recreational Area, it’s a wonderful sunny beach that the whole family can enjoy, and it's in downtown Kings Beach so you can walk to all the restaurants and shops.
Ski Resorts
Northstar-at-Tahoe is the closest ski resort to Kingswood Village. It also happens to be one of the best places to ski or snowboard in the Tahoe area. With almost 3,000 acres of skiable terrain, Northstar, although low in elevation, is quite large, and worldly renowned for its award-winning parks and large village at the bottom. Northstar is approximately a five minute drive from Kings Beach. Other area ski options are Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Diamond Peak.
Sledding
The Tahoe Regional Park and Northstar Ski Resorts are great places to go sledding with the kids, and both are about a 10-minute drive. Northstar has designated sledding paths that are long and steep, and there’s a tube lift that carries you and your sled/tube to the top of the hill. The Tahoe Regional Park is a popular wintertime park offering sledding and snowmobiling, and concessions. The children's sledding hill is near the park entrance, and the larger hill for older kids is located in the upper level of the park.
Casinos
Kingswood Village is in California, but very close to the Nevada border. The Crystal Bay casinos are about a 10-minute drive from Kingswood Village. The Crystal Bay Club, the Tahoe Biltmore, and the Nugget each provide live entertainment, limitless gaming, and tasty food, and are open 24-hours a day.
Golfing
Surrounding the Kingswood Village area are two great golf courses – The Old Brockway Golf Course, which is literally down the street from the condominiums, and the large and extensive course at Northstar, about a five minute scenic drive from the village. The Old Brockway course is over 3400 yards in size, and Northstar’s course is 18 holes and almost 7000 yards in size.
