03/30/2021The location of the cottage was great. A short walk to the lakefront. Grocery stores and Heavenly Village also within walking distance. The fenced-in backyard was really nice for our dog to run around, however, there was some garbage and poop we picked up. The cottage is cozy but might be hard for some people to move around in. The bathroom was tight and might be difficult for some with mobility challenges. The gas fireplace really warmed the place up and was nice to sit in front of after a long hike. The kitchen has nice appliances and plenty of dish/cookware. It was nice to have a washer and dryer, but the lint trap looked like it hadn't been emptied in a long time. With two people working remotely there were no issues with the wifi. The cottage was full of DVDs and board games. The stairs weren't too steep as we did not have any issue nor did our pup. The ceilings upstairs were frustrating to navigate, but we just limited our time upstairs. There were plenty of towels and spare sheets for the pullout couch.
Comment from Jimmie MorrisBusiness OwnerSara, It appears our cleaners missed the yard and the lint trap. I will let our housekeeping manager know so she can give them a reminder. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your time in this great house, and we hope to see you back again soon.

02/11/2021We had a very nice stay at Queen's Cottage. My favorite parts were the location, kitchen, the very nice fireplace, and the comfort of the bed. A few comments that make this a 4-star review instead of a 5-star review. First, the place is small and a little cumbersome to navigate. It may work for a family of 4, but that's the maximum I would recommend for a place this size. The bathroom, while it has 2 sinks, is not really suitable for 2 people to use at once. It is very narrow once you get inside and you can't really squeeze one person past another. The shower curtain had a moderately strong mildew smell and was discolored. The vanity was nice and had plenty of room. The living room was laid out well and we made occasional use of the TV over the 4 days we were there. The onsite wifi was about 10x slower than LTE, so we ended up just using cell data to stream videos and entertain ourselves. The gas fireplace was AWESOME and made the room nice and cozy while in use. The dinette table is very short in comparison to the chairs, so both of us kept hitting our knees when trying to eat at the table. The kitchen was very well stocked though it would have been nice to have saran wrap or foil for our leftovers and toaster oven use. Plenty of cutlery, plates, and glasses. Upstairs, the bedrooms are a bit quirky since they have low and slanted ceilings. The bedroom with the 1 queen bed shakes when you walk in the room. The other bedroom didn't have this issue. We enjoyed using the included space heater to supplement the wall heater downstairs. Speaking of stairs, the stairs are quite shallow and steep; you need to exercise extreme caution when going down the stairs as it's easy to fall. The Carbon Monoxide detector at the top of the stairs had batteries labeled 11/2019, meaning they were well out of date. We texted Lake Tahoe Accommodations to let them know about this. Testing the unit made an audible sound, but it was quieter than I would have expected. For a place with numerous gas appliances (stove, fireplace, wall heater, and water heater), you really need more than 1 well-functioning CO detector. The backyard was nice and has a bunch of relatively fresh snow when we visited. There were multiple droppings from either wild animals and/or prior guests, so... watch your step. There were definitely some raccoon prints in the snow, so just be aware that wild animals are very much a part of the neighborhood and environment when you're in the mountains and use caution. The parking situation was great, but we only had 1 car so it wasn't a big concern. I'd love it if more rentals offered an outdoor electrical outlet so you can charge your car overnight if you're driving an EV. Overall, we loved the location with its walkable and quiet neighborhood. People around us were all very friendly and approachable. It's only a few blocks to the lake, which has excellent views all day, especially with fresh snow in the mountains. I do recommend this location, but just know that it *is* quirky and a little expensive for what you get.

Thanks for your detailed feedback. We'll take 4 stars! CO2 and smoke detector batteries are changed out annually when we preform the fall deep clean. We will certainly check our battery supply in our maintenance department to make sure our batteries are not expired. I will also put in an order to change out the shower curtain. We do have several properties that have Tesla/EV charging ports. Please call our office and they can help you select the right one for your family. Hope to see you again soon!

09/30/2020Queen's Cottage was the perfect stay for us for our fall break getaway! It's a cozy cabin and it's in a great location. We walked to the beach, hiking trails, and even when we wanted to grab a bite to eat. They have plenty of DVDs and board games, which we enjoyed during our stay. The yard is a good size for the dog to play fetch, which she loved! If you stay here: head's up the staircase leading the to bedrooms are very steep and the ceilings are low in the bedrooms. Also, the plumbing in the bathroom is old. They have signs that say that, but it took 20+ minutes for the shower to drain. Also, the streets are not well lit and no sidewalks if you choose to go out and walk back like we did. So, be careful when it's dark! Also, there is hardly any storage (no closest space) which was fine for us, but it would have been a different experience for us during the winter months or a longer stay. All in all, we would definitely stay here again. It was perfect for 3 nights.

07/15/2020This cabin was perfect! Walkable distance to the lake and the large fenced backyard was much appreciated for the dogs. It felt great in the summer but I feel like it would be at its peak in the winter as it had a very cozy feel to it, Large enough for the 3 of us and very nice and updated kitchen and bathroom. Would recommend.

10/31/2019Charming Tahoe cabin in a great neighborhood. The cabin was perfect - we decided at the last minute to get away and we were lucky to find this fantastic cabin. It was exactly as described and was clean and well maintained. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in Tahoe. The check in/out process was equally great, everyone was very helpful at the office and we even received a welcome bottle of wine! We definitely plan on returning to Tahoe soon and hope the cabin is available!!! Thanks - Holly and Jim
